My name is Katrina, and I have over 13 years experience providing therapy to children, teens, and young adults with a variety of mental health concerns. I strive to be a calming presence in my clients’ mental health journeys, meeting every person with empathy, respect, and understanding. My approach is grounded in the belief that every young person has resilience and the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change when provided with a safe and supportive environment.

Drawing from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and play-based therapies, I tailor each session to meet the unique needs of my clients. I work collaboratively with clients and/or parents to create a treatment plan that helps build self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and develop practical strategies to navigate through current difficulties.

Education/Qualifications

I have a Masters of Counselling, specializing in Counselling Psychology, from Athabasca University. I have extensive training in play-based therapies through the Canadian Association of Play Therapy, and am certified in Modified Interaction Guidance, an attachment-based therapy that works to improve parent-child relationships. Additionally, I have received formal training in Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) for both adults and youth, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and exposure-based therapy for treating anxiety.
